Last week Justyna Starostka represented XTREME at the Viborg Animation Festival, joining at the invitation of the Immersive ECHO project.

On Wednesday, the conference “Immersive experiences at museums and cultural institutions” explored a key question: how can museums and cultural institutions use immersive technologies and compelling storytelling to create meaningful and engaging experiences for contemporary audiences? The sessions focused on how new formats and digital tools can bring fresh ways to understand and interact with cultural heritage, science, history, and nature.

A highlight was the world premiere of the immersive experience ”Snapsting”, at Museum Wibergis, which we got to experience while it’s still in the prototyping phase. Thank you Rikke Smidt, Head of Dissemination and Education at Viborg Museum, for your generosity in hosting us!

On Thursday, Justyna presented lessons learned from the XTREME project, reflecting on almost 3 years of cross-partner collaboration developing mixed reality experiences for arts and culture. The presentation sparked great discussions and an exchange of ideas for future collaborations.

Big thanks to the Immersive ECHO project, especially to Sia Søndergaard, Project Manager at The Animation Workshop/VIA UC, Ismaila Jallow, project manager, Visual Arena- Lindholmen Science Park, and Matevž Straus from ID20 Institute, for the invitation!
