XTREME Consortium meeting - June 2026

The XTREME project consortium gathered online on 29–30 June 2026 for its latest full project meeting, bringing together partners from across the consortium to review progress across work packages, share updates from ongoing use cases, and collectively plan the project’s final steps forward.

The first day opened with a welcome and project status overview from Sami S. Brandt, before moving into an extended session on WP3 led by Vittorio Murino, covering current developments and open discussions among partners. The afternoon shifted focus to WP4, with Paul Tennent presenting updates spanning the ICO/IWAMD outcomes, followed by dedicated sessions on the MUNCH and FNOB use cases. The MUNCH session was led by Paul Tennent, Christian Sivertsen, and Justyna Starostka, while the FNOB session was presented by Paul Tennent and Ane Skak. The day concluded with a WP5 session led by Martin Cunneen, providing a comprehensive update on the work carried out in that strand.

Day two began with a closed Steering Board meeting for SB members, followed by a WP6 session open to the full consortium. A highlight of the morning was the screening of the XTREME documentary, presented by Ane Skak, representing a key milestone in the project’s dissemination and communication efforts. A discussion and update on exploitation activities was led by Lucas Katsikaris. 

The afternoon was dedicated to open discussion and forward planning. Justyna Starostka opened with a WP6 overview, before partners engaged in detailed planning for the United XR event. The session continued with a discussion on common publications, final deliverables, and reporting requirements, led collectively by the consortium. Exciting times ahead!
