Following last month’s update about the workshop with Paula Strunden and Julie L. Parisi in Copenhagen, we’re excited to share that the creative process around the XTREME MUNCH production continued with an inspiring few days of hands-on exploration in the 4DSOUND studio at ITU in Copenhagen.

Over the course of the three days, the creative team explored and experimented with several of the tools and technologies developed within XTREME to further develop the first prototype of the MUNCH experience, which will be tested this October at MUNCH in Oslo.

This phase brought together a team of collaborators:

  • Silvana Imam – acclaimed Swedish artist commissioned, together with Paula Strunden, by MUNCH for the XTREME production
  • Nisj – acclaimed interdisciplinary Swedish producer, writer and composer, and long time collaborator of Silvana Imam
  • Marijn Cinjee from 4DSOUND – co-led the sound experiments, offering technical and artistic insight into spatial sound design
  • Christian Sivertsen from ITU – co-led the sound experiments and technical coordinator and creative tech partner for the MUCH case
  • Julie L. Parisi from MUNCH – creative producer for the MUNCH case, and discipline lead for innovation at MUNCH continiues to lead the artistic production with the whole creative team

The MUNCH case is blending spatial sound, immersive XR, and collaborative storytelling to prototype a powerful, shared artistic experience across remote locations. This marks another exciting step toward the full-scale XTREME production set to be tested at MUNCH this autumn.

Stay tuned. More to come soon.
